International museum day: Free Admission
On Tuesday we will be celebrating International Museum Day! To mark the occasion, entry to Mastola will be free for the entire day.
International Museum Day has been observed on 18 May since 1977. Its purpose is to highlight the social role of museums and raise awareness among both the public and decision‑makers. This year’s theme, “Museums for a Divided World”, emphasises the ability of museums to build bridges across cultural, social and geopolitical boundaries, strengthening dialogue, understanding, inclusion and peace both within and between communities.
This year, International Museum Day falls on a Monday, when Mastola is closed. The celebration will therefore take place in all Lahti museums with a free‑entry day on Tuesday, 19 May.
You can explore our exhibitions. Lahti radio station history, Treats for the eyes and ears, Retro or rubbish.
