What is it like to make a movie when one of the actors is an animal? At least no two takes are alike!

In this exhibition, the world of filming is turned upside down by featuring animals as the stars.

Directors and screenwriters share their experiences, and you can see how animal actors are trained for their roles today. What must be taken into account when planning a movie with an animal actor? And what happens when the furry star decides to run off in the middle of filming?

Cuddly heroes from Finnish movies and TV series are introduced through star profiles. They include, among others, Jami the police dog, Putti the pig and Poku the horse.

Visitors can watch and browse material related to the making of films and TV series as well as interviews with human actors.

The exhibition also addresses the less bright side of the business. It brings up the film industry’s negative effects on animals and questions concerning their treatment. With the filmmakers understanding the potential problems, acting can be fun also for our animal friends!
